At Forge Wood Primary School, our Computing curriculum is inclusive, ambitious and evidence-informed, ensuring that all pupils are engaged, supported and challenged to succeed. Through clear instruction, carefully sequenced learning and appropriate scaffolding, pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Computing combines computer science, digital literacy and information technology. Pupils learn how digital systems work, develop computational thinking skills, create and evaluate digital content, and gain practical experience of programming. High-quality oracy and the explicit teaching of ambitious vocabulary support learning across all aspects of the curriculum.

We are committed to helping children become responsible, confident and creative users of technology. Online safety is woven throughout the curriculum, empowering pupils to make safe and informed choices online. As part of Safer Internet Day 2027, pupils will explore the theme "Together for a Better Internet" and the UK focus, "Too good to be true? Keeping yourself and others safe from scams online", helping them recognise online risks and become positive digital citizens.

Alongside academic achievement, we nurture pupils' personal and social development, preparing every child to thrive both now and in the future.
