Admissions 2027-2028

Forge Wood Primary School is a 2 form entry Primary School. We have a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 60, for Reception aged children each year. Forge Wood Primary School admissions are coordinated by West Sussex County Council please click here to apply.

If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, you can apply for a Reception school place from 5 October 2026 using West Sussex County Council online admissions system.

Closing date for Reception applications is 15 January 2027.

National Offer Day: 16 April 2027.

All parents/carers living in West Sussex need to complete their online application form or a paper form.  No separate application is required direct to the academy. 

Applicants who wish to be considered for priority admission for Forge Wood Primary School under the criterion of Children of Staff must complete the Supplementary Information form available in Appendix 1 of the School Admissions Policy, in addition to the local authority application form.

Families living outside West Sussex must use their Home Local Authority’s form to apply for a place at a West Sussex school.

Waiting lists

Where there are more children than places available, waiting lists will operate for each year group according to the oversubscription criteria without regard to the date the application was received or when a child’s name was added to the waiting list.

Waiting lists are held until 31st December of the academic year applied for when they will be cancelled. Parents wishing to remain on the waiting list after this date must make an in-year application to West Sussex.

When Forge Wood Primary School is over-subscribed the schools admission policy is used to rank the applications. Please check the annual policy for detail of the ranking criteria.

Admission of children outside their normal year group

The Department for Education (DfE) expects pupils to be educated in their normal chronological year group however should you wish for your child to defer your child's entry to Reception or be admitted to a different year group please visit the following link for more information.
